SRL Repair & Recertification

We are DBI Sala and Protecta certified. We can repair and recertify most common DBI Sala SRL’s and Protecta Rebel SRL’s latchway SRL models of self retracting lifelines. That means all work and repairs are done in house. We also inspect harnesses, lanyards, winches and tripods. Our experienced technician will ensure that your fallblock, lanyard, tripod, or harness meets CSA standards when it leaves our shop.

Lanyard Harness Inspection

Wearing a fall protection harness saves lives and helps to prevent against injury.

Every occasion to wear a harness must begin with an inspection prior to use. In addition to pre-use inspections, at least once every 12 months safety harnesses must be thoroughly inspected by a qualified technician who is trained to spot problems that are easily overlooked in the user pre-use inspections.

Gas Monitor Repair & Calibration

You expect to receive accurate performance from your detectors and monitors so you can work reliably and trust your readings. We are here to make sure they work for you as expected and we will take it upon ourselves to visit your site to ensure that happens. We can service, repair and calibrate all varieties of gas monitors such as MSA, BW, and Dräger. We will get yours working properly, quickly.

Breathing Apparatus

We recertify most manufacturers MSA, Dräger, 3M-Scott, and Survivair both self-contained (SCBA) and supplied-air (SABA). We clean and sanitize facepieces, NIOSH test the regulators (recommended annually) and inspect the harnesses. We clean the cases and change out cylinder air with grade-E certified breathing air. We will do eddy current tests on the cylinders with our Visual Plus 3 and are also one of the few shops in Calgary equipped with a 10,000 psi high-pressure hydro-tester.

Fit Testing

The OHD QuantiFit2 is a highly specialized instrument that utilizes OHD’s scientifically proven and patented Controlled Negative Pressure (CNP) technology to directly measure respirator leakage. This innovative technology performs the fastest, easiest, and most precise respirator fit test available, ensuring the best fit and protection for you and your employees.

High Pressure Vessel Hydro Testing

Big or small, we test them all! We will recertify most types of high pressure cylinders and vessels . We do high pressure hydro testing on most common types of high pressure cylinders. Our equipment can test pressures up to 10,000 psi. Orion Safety Equipment is a Transport Canada approved testing facility. We can also refill your high pressure vessels with breathing air. Fire Extinguisher

Our shop has all of the equipment necessary to recharge, hydro test and recertify all makes and models of stored pressure fire extinguishers, wheeled unit fire extinguishers, CO₂ fire extinguishers, and fire hoses. We can inspect and recertify kitchen suppression systems as well. Our technicians have up-to-date certification to perform annual inspections of all types of fire extinguishers at your place of business to ensure that you conform to current Alberta Fire Codes and NFPA 10. We can do on site annual inspections and will leave loaner fire extinguishers in place of any units that may need work done at our shop. We can also hydro test, inspect, and recertify most common commercial use fire hoses.

Emergency Exit Lighting Inspection & Repair

We can inspect and repair all varieties of emergency lighting. We do on-site draw analysis, battery and light bulb replacement, and if the unit is not functioning we can provide and install a new replacement.
